How sad that with the recent passing of Zola Taylor, only one member
of those earlier Platters is still with us, bass singer Herb Reed.
You already know doo wop—for example, you know the two most famous songs of this era, “In the Still of the Night” and “Earth Angel.” And you know the Platters (above), who became the most famous group, but there were hundreds and hundreds of doo wop groups, some of which will be featured here when this page is developed.
